…providing you with practical tools so that you can Live Life on the Path of Praise… no matter what!
Previously, I shared how God has used My One Word–ENOUGH–to convict my heart about spending, eating, talking and other behaviors I am prone to take to excess! If I am honest, I am not horribly excited about this process. It means saying no to myself a lot. I know I am in for a transformative year, though! Conversely, I am eagerly looking forward to pursuing another aspect of using the word “Enough” as a lens through which to view life this year in 2013. The verse I have chosen to memorize for “Enough”...read more
Have you ever woken up, stumbled into your bathroom, taken a gander at your image reflected in the mirror and been aghast? It might be a hair growing out of your face that is NOT supposed to be there (just being honest) :-), an obtrusive red blemish (I can’t stand using the “P” word!). Or even a “sun spot” that appeared overnight. All you know is “That is NOT supposed to be what my face looks like!” Recently, this happened to me at an entirely new level! “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). ~ Matthew 1:23 A parenthetical statement…yet so precious to me this Christmas. When my heart aches because those I love are physically or emotionally distant…or have even passed away…I can find encouragement in the fact that God loves us so much that he wanted nothing to stand between us. Christmas is all about God *with* us…God with *me* and God with *you*. He tells us he will never leave...read more
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18,19 is a precious passage to me. God has used it to speak to me yet again. He asks me if I can SEE what he is doing. Do I PERCEIVE the new thing he is up to! I just returned from a wonderful horseback ride and it never fails to astound me that God uses my horses to teach me about life and about Him. Today was no exception. Imagine walking...read more
